Real Dad Blog Version: I think William T. Hurley might get the dad loser of the year for this incident.

A few days ago, a dad got mad at his 10 year old son for who knows what. What happened next was a child’s worse nightmare. His dad started beating him with his fists and burned him with a hot iron. The boy escaped from his father and sought refuge in the oven. The dad, in his not so brilliant moment, decided to turn the oven on. Luckily, the boy got out when the oven started getting warm. The cops finally came and the boy was rescued.

The police arrested the dad. To make this story worse, the man told his police that he would beat his son again and then actually tried to beat him in front of the officers.

This dad does need some serious help if he ever wants to see his child again. William T. Hurley, you get the dad loser award and probably should never see your son again. Know matter how bad your 10 year old son is, he doesn’t deserve what you gave to him. A spanking is one thing, but burning him and beating him? Then you have to go and turn the oven in when he was so scared of you he was hiding in the oven.

Your son is my prayers. I hope he gets the reform he needs so he will never be like you.

Richard Heene - Dad Loser #3

Richard Heene, I am sure you can think of better ways to help your family.  Lying to the world about your child being in the balloon should have not been on the list.  I hope you are now a better role model to your kids.  I also hope you have to pay back all the tax payer money wasted in your hoax.

Your hoax got you on the dad loser list as dad loser #4.  Your face has been the media enough where I do not have to explain what you did more than I already have.

Flying Hamster is back to get Dad Loser #3

Real Dad Blog Version: This dad deserves the Dad Loser award for throwing his daughter’s hamsters for having a bad day.

I was searching across dad news on Google and discovered this headline, West Brighton dad flung daughter’s hamsters, cops allege. This article written, by John Annese, states that he had a bad day. He then came home and took his frustration out on the hamsters, by throwing them across the room. Then, he tried to get the hamster out of the girl’s wrists so he could stomp on them. Luckily, the hamsters were alive when cops came.

When I read this article, I was so frustrated at this dad. First, he traumatized his daughter by acting out of control. Next, he hurt something she cared for. Worst of all, he showed it was OK to take out frustrations on other things and people. This dad deserves the Dad Loser award making him Dad Loser #3.
Our job as dads is to be role models for our kids. I have repeated this throughout many of my blog posts. This dad needs to get some kind of community service helping kids and get his own role model on how to be a dad.

Here are some dad words of advice or parenting suggestions on how to control your temper when you have a bad day.

• Think of your kids: Kindness and innocence takes charge over anger and tempers.
• Do something appropriate: like go for a run, play a game, or even hit a punching bag.
• Talk to another adult: Talking does help, even for men. I do not like to do it too much but it feels good to be listened to.
• Take time to yourself: Sit back, relax and breath.

Just remember that I better not see you on the dad loser list. If you do something stupid, I am coming after you.

A St. Paul man is charged with a gross misdemeanor after he allegedly ripped a shirt off his four-year-old son and hit the boy for wearing a rival gang’s color.

Kenny T. Jackson, 30, was charged with malicious punishment of a child in Ramsey County District Court, according to a criminal complaint dated Wednesday.

St. Paul police arrested Jackson on Tuesday afternoon after they responded to a 911 call from a home in the 500 block of Sherburne Avenue, the complaint said.

The unnamed caller, who said he was Jackson’s stepfather, reported that Jackson was on drugs and “destroying the house.” The stepfather said he was hiding in a bedroom because Jackson was yelling and throwing things, and he was afraid.

The caller said Jackson was angry because he is reportedly a Bloods gang member, and his son had been wearing a blue shirt, the color of a rival gang.

Jackson was breaking things in the house when police arrived, the complaint said. He fled on foot and tried to hide in the trunk of a car but was apprehended.

Police found the boy shirtless, scratched and crying. A 5-year-old in the house said Jackson had “whooped” the boy and two other children. Another child said the man was angry because the kids were wearing blue clothes, and that they couldn’t eat because they were scared.

When questioned, Jackson denied the allegations and asked for an attorney, the complaint said.

On Thursday, a judge ordered Jackson not to contact the 4-year-old, according to Paul Gustafson, a spokesman for the Ramsey County attorney’s office.

Court records indicate that Jackson was ordered last month to serve time in the county workhouse for a probation violation stemming from a 2003 drug conviction, Gustafson said.

I am going to give you a suggested Mr. Jackson. When you get out of jail, quit being a gang member, move away from all your friends, and quit drugs. Be a role model to your son. You can make up what you did to him. This is the only way you can lose the title as dad loser number two. Become a role model to your son and become one with the real dads.

Mr. Jackson, you are a father. Hearing about what you did to your child makes me sick. You never hit a child. A four year old does not even know what gang colors are. When the woman hearing your child first told you were going to be a dad, you should have stopped being a gang member and quit using drugs. Simple problems do have simple solutions. You are the person that makes solutions complicated by keeping involved with people who are up to no good. All people will accept you if you are kind and work hard. Get out of the gang life and be involved in a community of real dads who want the best for their kids.

Philip Garrido - Dad Loser Number One

Real Dad Blog version: some dads can be real losers, this guy gets dad loser number one.

I had thoughts of keeping this dad blog very positive but some dads need to be called out.  So every once in awhile, I will post about a dad being a loser.  These dads can be dead beats by not paying their child support or just being just stupid.  A dad, husband, or a man should never ever take a life or innocence from someone.  This Dad Loser Number One makes me cringe when I think about it. I need to share my frustrations because I think every father needs to be a great dad.  I cannot see how you cannot be!   Being a dad is the best job in the world.

The first dad loser is Phillip Garrido.  He is the loser who kidnapped, at the time 11 year old, Jaycee Lee Dugard.  After 18 years, she finally turned her kidnapper in.  You may read more about it at Wikipedia if you have not heard much about it.  Lately, it has been a top story in the news.

Why does Phillip Garrido get Dad Loser Number One?  He took the innocence away from Jaycee Lee Dugard.  She had her whole life in front of her.  He took away her freewill through brainwashing and other unthinkable actions that I hate to write about.  He also had two children with Jaycee.  I am not going to ever say these kids were a mistake.   I am a strong believer in life and these kids need to be embraced.

These children never had a chance to have their biological dad show them morals and show them what a good person is all about.  I do hope in time they will have a real dad that will show them these things so they can grow up and have a decent life.

My prayers are with Jaycee and her two children.  Phillip Garrido, you deserve what is coming to you.  You deserve the title of dad loser.  When I think how it feels to be dad, thinking of you makes my stomach turn and ache.
