Melissa and I went to the Science Museum of Minnesota to see the Titanic and the omni theater movie Titanica. We had free tickets to get to see the exhibits and the omni theater and it still cost $32 just to see the Titanic exhibit and parking. I thought I was even going to have a poor man’s day since we had free tickets.
Rylan got the chance to stay with Gramma (My mom). The first thing he did that surprised me was he went to Grandpa instead of Gramma. For those of you who have kids, you know that is rare at 9 months. The little stud went to a guy who he doesn’t see every day. It was very weird not having him in the back seat of the car when we drove away to have a date day at the Science Museum. I always looked back there to see if he was OK. I just had to hit myself in the head and say that he was in good hands at Gramma’s.
If you are in Minnesota I suggest you see the Titanic at the Science Museum of Minnesota (or when the exhibit is in another state). Just be ready to pay $60 for two people, even more with kids. It may be worth the price as it’s very educational. You even get to be a person who was on the Titanic. My person died at the end. The good fella did let his wife and maid survive. Melissa and her husband survived. She told me if we are ever on a ship that I had to go with her because could not live without me and neither could Rylan and our future kids. I am loved and needed! Sweet!
After we spent our expensive day at the Science Museum of Minnesota we enjoyed an elegent lunch with the dollar menu at McDonalds. We wanted something quick so we could get back to the little-big guy. OK… We wanted something cheap. I am a cheapskate and have taught my wife well. Too bad I cannot teach her with other things. At least I have taught her to be kind on OUR pocketbook.
Rylan had an exciting day at Gramma’s. The guy version: he played, was fed, pooped and slept. He peed in between. The girl version: He had an exciting day at Gramma’s. At 10:30 he was a little tired and took a 15 minute nap. It was probably because he was not in a familiar surrounding. Gramma got him up and played with him. He had his milk at 11:45 because he was getting fussy. At 12:30 he ate some chicken something and a fruit along with finger foods. He got tired at 1:00 as he was rubbing his eyes and Gramma put him down. At 2 something he woke and we arrived to see him playing with Gramma with a big smile on his face.
I know that was a girl’s version. Melissa would be proud because I provided details.

Rylan and Tanner a couple of months ago
Rylan had a good rest of the day. We are watching Melissa’s parent’s dog so he had the joy of watching our dog and theirs play like 2 puppies. Rylan sat there and laughed and laughed and laughed. I am glad we had a dog when he was born because he can handle all types of animals, even being climbed on.
What I want everyone to know from today’s blog though is that every dad needs a date, preferably with his wife. Cheap or expensive, it can be done. You may miss your kid but if you do not have these date days you are going to miss your wife. You need these for the good of the child. Your child will treat the opposite sex better instead of growing up and being one of those people that treats the opposite poorly.
One funny thing that happened a couple of days ago that I have to share. My wife thought she should iron with her new iron. She setup her ironing board backwards and said, “How am I going to iron and watch TV if my iron is this way, I suppose I can iron like this?”
I turned the ironing board around. She ironed for 2.5 hours.
