Welcome to the Real Dad Blog. This blog is about my life as a dad. It is meant to be brutally honest as my wife would put it as well as funny and helpful. It is sad to say that this could also qualify as a Mom blog because they actually get read.

I view myself as a real dad. What is a real dad? Someone who wants the best for his child/children, his wife and himself while holding up to values of a hard working American citizen and God. I am going to share my daily happenings with you because they are funny and helpful.

It may be hard to qualify me as a real dad. I am able to write this Real Dad Blog though through my life experiences. I grew up with my mom having her own daycare business (I helped and loved being around children) and my father being around to help when he was not at work. I also have 3 brothers and 2 sisters.I decided to become a special education teacher with a license in Emotional Behavioral Disorders. I have been teaching for 8 years at a local area high school working with students who are not making it in the regular education setting (I think this may qualify me as a real dad because these students do not always have a real dad).

On July 28th 2007, I married my beautiful wife Melissa (being a real dad takes help from a great wife). That is the greatest day of my life. My second greatest day of my life is when my son Rylan was born, October 17th, 2008. He was a surprise (Melissa’s fault but the best fault ever!).

Since then there has been great days and tough days. Sit back and enjoy my funny stories, straight to the truth opinions and helpful hints and learn from my mistakes.
